Receipt Scanner

Receipt Scanner uses AI to extract expense details from a receipt image. It requires OPENAI_API_KEY.

Supported Files​

Upload a JPG or PNG receipt image. The API enforces a maximum file size of 5 MB and allows 5 scan requests per minute per IP.

Workflow​

  1. Open Scan.
  2. Upload or drag-and-drop the receipt.
  3. Cashlytics sends the file to the receipt scan API.
  4. Review extracted merchant/name, amount, date, currency, category suggestion, and confidence.
  5. Select or adjust account, category, recurrence, and notes.
  6. Save the result as an expense.

When the expense is saved successfully, Cashlytics also uploads the original receipt file as a document attachment. If attachment upload fails, the expense save is still treated as the primary successful action.

Review Expectations​

Always review the extracted result before saving. Low or medium confidence means image quality, cropping, language, or receipt layout may have affected extraction.
