Merchant Categories

Cashlytics remembers which category you picked for a merchant and proposes it next time.

How It Learns

When you approve a daily expense created through the AI Assistant with a category, the expense description is stored (lowercase, trimmed, up to 200 characters) together with the category. Booking the same description again updates the mapping and increases its usage count.

The assistant receives your 30 most used mappings and proposes the matching category when you add an expense, for example "45 EUR REWE".

Learning currently happens only for expenses created via the assistant. The Receipt Scanner and CSV import do not create or use these mappings (imported expenses have no category).

Managing Mappings

There is no screen for viewing or editing mappings. They are removed when you delete the category they point to, or when your account is deleted. Choosing a different category for the same description overwrites the stored mapping.
